What We Do

We feature small classes where students can receive individual help. Children enrolled in our program spend two hours per day with us improving their skills in math, reading and writing. We have developed a curriculum which parallels what the students are being taught in the public schools. By spending time with us each day, the children are better able to understand the things they are being taught at school. Local school principals have expressed gratitude to us as they notice the improvement in their students who are enrolled in our program.

Our program not only provides low-income kids with educational support, but our teachers also encourage and motivate them and provide them with positive role models. The kids in our program are happy to be there each day. La Escuelita is a place where they feel safe and loved.

Early on we found that many of our children had difficulties concentrating because they were hungry. To address this problem, La Escuelita now serves all our kids a healthy lunch five days a week. For many of these children, this is the only nutritional meal they will eat during the day.
